IRIG: Controversy on obesity gene in Science

It was reported in Science (Reports, 14 April 2006, p. 279) about an association between the INSIG2 gene variant rs7566605 and obesity in four sample populations, under a recessive model. The controversy about the association is reported in the current issue of Science. Data from a couple of labs does not support the association. See below.
