This paper published on "Cell Metabolism" titled "
Role of hepatic STAT3 in brain-insulin action on
hepatic glucose production" demonstrated a possible
signaling target of insulin in brain which relays the
suppression of gluconeogenesis onto liver. When STAT3
is knocked down in liver, the suppression of i.c.v.
insulin on gluconeogenesis in liver is ameliorated.
This suggests that the communication between brain
and liver might target on STAT3 pathway.
